Do you offer bulk billed treatments?
We do offer bulk-billed dental treatments for eligible children aged 2-17 under the current Queensland Government. To find out if your child is eligible, please give us a call on 3482 2265 with your medicare card number handy, and we can find out within 1-2 minutes. You can also submit your medicare card details online using our portal and we will check for you. Its as easy as that!
Are there additional fees?
Its no-ones fault that dental emergencies happen out of hours. Therefore, we have no additional charges EVER! Not for early mornings, late nights or Saturday appointments. It’s our goal to have competitive and affordable fees for dental treatment.
Is bleeding gums normal?
In short, no. However it is easily remedied. The main reason that gums’ bleed is due to a build up of bacteria and plaque around the teeth and under the gums, which causes the gums to become quite upset and inflamed. This plaque will harder into tartar over the course of a few weeks, which makes it impossible to remove with at-home brushing and flossing. Bleeding gums can result in bone loss and loose teeth if left untreated. We strongly recommend seeing us at Murrumba Downs Family Dental for a gentle but comprehensive clean if you are experiencing bleeding gums.
Do I need to make an appointment or can I come to the practice without one?
We value our patient’s time, so we prefer if appointments are made (Ph: 3482 2265 or book online) so that we can keep to schedule.
I’m absolutely terrified of the dentist. Can you help?
Absolutely. We understand how scary it can be to visit the dentist. Our Australian-trained dentists are of the highest ethical and professional standard. We work as a team to provide gentle, affordable and professional dental care. We also offer happy gas for our anxious patients (kids and adults alike!) which can really help take the edge off. If that isn’t enough, we also have a visiting specialist Anaesthetist who provides IV sedation services for all of our patients. Your comfort and trust in us is our first priority.
How much does it cost?
A very popular question. We keep our fees affordable, and we’re not just saying that. Our fees are lower than the industry standard published by the ADA. We are preferred providers for all the major health funds which means more back for you. These include Medibank Private, TUH, NIB, HCF and more. We also offer free kids dental for all children eligible under the Child Dental Scheme with Medicare. To find out if you are eligibile, just give us a call with your medicare card ready.
We also have interest free payment plans available. We offer Zip Pay, AfterPay and Denticare payment options.
Fees range, but we want to be upfront. As an example, a consult is $50, a comprehensive checkup and clean with fluoride is $170, fillings range from $140-280 and extractions range from $249 including the xray and consult. For more information, please give us a call on 3482 2265.
Do you do complex dental care?
Yes we do. By having a large but cohesive team, our dentists and specialists offer wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, root canal therapy, IV sedation, cosmetic makeovers, dentures, family dentistry and more. We have the latest technology including on-site 3-D xray imaging, 3D scanning cameras, microscopes and more for our patient’s world class care and convenience.
Are you open afternoons and weekends?
Yes, we understand our patients are very busy. As such, we are open till 6pm Monday through to Wednesday, 7pm on Thursday and we are open on Saturdays at no extra charge. We are also open some public holidays where possible.
How long have you been practising?
Our practice was established in 2010 by Dr. Natalie Bowen, who was treasured by the community. Following her departure Dr Alex Qui and Dr Manfred Lagemann took the reigns, regularly investing into the latest technology, courses and equipment to ensure our patients always have the latest and best treatments possible. We have recently renovated, building a new surgery in 2022 to ensure we continue to offer the best possible service we can imagine. Our staff are long-standing, with the auxillary dental team remaining on board even after Dr Natalies departure. We want you to know that Dr Alex and Dr Manfred will always be here to help and service your dental needs. Our combined experience is to your advantage.
My dentist said I have to see a specialist. Can you help?
Specialists are fantastic for complex cases and we regularly work with specialists to obtain the best outcome for our patients. Indeed we even have a few specialists at our sister practice. We offer a full range of services such as wisdom teeth extractions and dental implants, and we would love to be of help if possible. A consultation first would be recommended.
My child is very anxious, can you help?
Yes we can. We have experienced dentists and assistants who are great with kids. We also have TVs (with netflix) on the roof, and happy gas available. Its amazing what can be done when the child is comfortable and distracted.
I have an emergency, can you help today?
