Kids Dentist | Murrumba Downs
At Murrumba Downs Family Dental we foster a positive, friendly and warm environment for you and your children.
Your kids’ dentist is critical to developing their confidence and positive attitude towards their oral health. We have a conservative, fun but meticulous approach to guiding children through the dental journey from baby teeth to well developed oral well-being.
This journey involves regular 6 monthly checkups and cleans, with X-rays at certain intervals to ensure everything is tracking as it should. We screen for airway issues, bony development abnormalities, dental cross-bites and other developmental issues, and intervene as necessary to keep your child on track. We have extensive experience in airway development, palatal expansion, mandibular advancements, cross-bite corrections, tongue tie identification and more. We love to catch any issues early before they develop into bigger problems or irreversible situations requiring surgical intervention.
Payments
To ensure no kids slip through, we are approved medicare bulk-billing dentists for all eligible children. If you’d like to find out more, or to check your eligibility, we can help.
We are preferred Medibank Members Choice, TUH and HCF Dentists. We are also preferred providers for all other health funds such as NIB, Smile.com.au.
The safety and well-being of our children are at the top of our list of priorities so when it comes to the health of their teeth we provide peace of mind through our reliable, caring and professional service.
Your child’s mouth sees a vast amount of change throughout their early years of developmental. In navigating this tricky time of your child’s life, it is important to make sure any dental work is done carefully and in a way that provides a fear free experience for them.
If the initial experience is a happy one, this should set the stage for a lifelong positive approach to dental hygiene and health. Conversely, if your child experiences fear early on, they could develop an aversion with lasting and potentially devastating consequences.
We appreciate your trusting us to be your child’s dentist in Brisbane and we won’t let you down.
Happy Gas
In some cases children can be particular anxious. Where treatment is required, we sometimes recommend happy gas for sedation and analgesia (pain-free) to maximise your child’s comfort and make their experience at the dentist a happy memory. Our experienced dentists can cater for your child’s individuality. Our dentists will require a consultation first, on a separate day to the happy gas, to screen for any concerns and to allow for adequate time for happy gas treatment.
For more information, please check out our Happy Gas page.
Medicare Bulk Billing
The Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule is up and running at Murrumba Downs Family Dental. It allows eligible children $1026 worth of dental treatment over each two year period. The child needs to be between the age of 2-17 for at least 1 day of the current year (so children who have turned 18 may still be eligible this year). To find out if you are eligible, simply give us a call on 3359 1611 and have your Medicare card ready, or email us your Medicare card number and we can check for you.
